Established in 1983, SIMI INTERNATIONAL S.r.l has specialized in "conditioning, handling & packaging" petrochemical products including all necessary utilities. SIMI's activities can be the design or the implementation EPC of complete plants.

Among the projects for which SIMI has the necessary expertise and references, we can list:

Bitumen packaging plant in 20-25 kg blocks

The bitumen is cast at a temperature of 180°C on concrete slabs and allowed to cool for 24 hours before being cut into blocks of weight and size desired. The blocks are individually wrapped in shrinkable plastic film before being palletized.

EPC plant with production 40,000 tons/year installed in Kstovo RUSSIA.

Modified bitumen plant for road use packed in heat-resistant nylon bags of 25 kg cooled in basins with water

The bitumen is now commonly modified in order to improve its features and make them suited to different weather conditions of the area of use. The modifying element is a mixture of bitumen and polymers rendered in pastilles.

EPC production plant with 65,000 tons/year installed in Kirkuk (Iraqi Kurdistan)

Paraffin packaging flakes obtained by cooling of the liquid paraffin on rotating rollers diam. 2 m

The paraffin flakes are bagged and palletized.

EPC plant with production 45,000 tons/year installed in Kstovo RUSSIA.

The paraffin can be also made in blocks of 5-8 kg obtained from pressed powder. The blocks are then wrapped in shrinkable film and placed in a number of 4-5 in cartons.



Plant for processing liquid sulphur in pellets and packing in big bags of 1000 kg

Plant EPC assembled in prefabricated modules 13x2.5 m assembled on site. Installed in Naryanmar (RUSSIA).

Plant for the production of HDPE containers and filling with lubricating oil

The plant includes the production of containers of 1-3-4-5-20-50 l by blow moulding machines and the production of the LDPE caps by injection moulding machines. The produced containers are filled, sealed, labelled and then packaged into palletized cartons.

Several plants of this type were implemented by SIMI in Kstovo, Perm, Ryazan, Omsk (Russia), in Ploiesti (Romania), in Baghdad (Iraq).

The supplied equipment include:

  • Production of the containers in HDPE and their caps in LDPE.
  • Filling, capping and anti-frode sealing.
  • Labelling.
  • Cartoning and palletizing.
  • Utilities.

The same type of system was provided for packaging other products such as detergents, solvents, antifreeze, and others.


Blending plant for lubricating oil

The mixture base oil plant with the different additives, in particular, we delivered and put into production mixers for "viscosity improver" product that requires special expertise and technology.

SIMI has provided 5 blending plants at ROSNEFT and GAZPROM refineries in RUSSIA.

Heat exchanger and Column Process

With our associated company we can perform detail design, construction, testing and any kind of vessels, tank, reactors, heat exchangers process columns.

Plant for the supply of industrial water with capacity 10,000 cubic meters/hour

The plant was fully designed and supplied ex works, transport and assembly are completed by a third party.

The fully automated system includes:

  • Pumping raw water from the river Tigris by vertical pumps on a floating pontoon.
  • Raw water treatment in circular clarifiers, sending to 15,000 cubic meters basin.
  • Pumping water from the basin to the area of use that returns heated.
  • Cooling incoming water from the process by cooling tower, water lost to evaporation is restored.
  • Utilities.

SIMI in some cases has designed and supplied prefabricated industrial buildings, we also studied and implemented some solutions to reduce the assembly time on site as skid-mounted solutions or installation in modules to be assembled on site.
